Sipo tree grows in the western, middle, eastern African regions. Mahogany is the best of its kind. Its colour is light brown, heartwood is red or purplish brown. Easy to handle by hand tools and machines. Accepts good polish. Heartwood is resistant to insects, moderately resistant to termites and resistant to marine animals.
